Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals Are Now a Global Health Threat
Everyday exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) has become a “profound threat” to human health, according to a newly released report. Mounting evidence links these chemicals to serious health effects like diabetes, neurological disorders, reproductive disorders, chronic inflammation, and immune impairment.
EDCs are characterized as chemicals that interfere with natural hormones and their actions, impacting many facets of health. Exposure to EDCs comes in many ways, particularly through plastics, pesticides, everyday consumer products, and per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
The report cited plastics and pesticides as particularly concerning, since production of both continues to increase despite warnings of a chemical pollution crisis. Glyphosate – the most commonly used pesticide – possesses multiple characteristics of an EDC, while plastics are made with thousands of known or suspected EDCs.
“EDCs are different than other toxic chemicals, but most regulations fail to address these differences,” said IPEN Science Advisor Sara Brosché, Ph.D. “For example, we know that even very low doses of endocrine disrupting chemicals can cause health problems and there may be no safe dose for exposure to EDCs.”
Flavonols May Boost Longevity, Lower Chronic Disease Risk
Consuming higher amounts of dietary flavonols could lower the risk of dying from any cause, a new study has found. It was also specifically associated with a 55% reduced risk of cancer-related mortality and a 33% reduced risk of cardiovascular disease mortality.
Flavonols are a specific group of antioxidants found naturally in a variety of plants. They have demonstrated anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor properties in previous research, which gives them the potential to help protect against age-related chronic diseases.
The study was an observational one that analyzed health data and flavonol intake for over 11,000 adult participants. Higher dietary intakes of flavonols were significantly linked to a lower risk of dying from cancer or heart disease as well as a 36% reduced risk of dying from other causes.
Experts largely agree that consuming antioxidants through whole food sources results in the greatest health benefits. Top flavonol foods include tea, cocoa powder or dark chocolate, berries, dark leafy greens, citrus fruits, bell peppers, herbs, legumes, and whole grains.

Beta Glucan: The Immune System "Cheat Code"
In 1990, an immunologist from the University of South Carolina heard about an ingredient Japanese scientists were researching at $1,410 per dose. So, he took a trip overseas to see what it was all about.
Turns out he discovered an immune system ‘cheat code.’ He came back to the United States and figured out how to make it…
But for a whole lot cheaper (around $0.60 per capsule!) & it revolutionized the supplement world forever.
The University of Louisville tested it, and found out it was 160x more effective than Vitamin C.
In fact, The American Nutraceutical Association hailed it as "The Most Effective Dietary Supplement for a Healthy Immune System."
There are over 200,000 published studies about this feel good ‘cheat code,’ making it the most researched immune modulator on the planet.
It’s called Beta Glucan, and this blend of Vitamin C, Resveratrol and Selium is a simple solution to support a strong immune system long-term.

Reminiscing About Old Times Could Improve Your Brain Health
A fascinating new study has found that reminiscing and reflecting on times gone by in a social setting may boost cognitive function and even improve mild memory loss. The study was conducted in historically Black neighborhoods that had undergone rapid changes and disruption over the years, so all the memories weren't necessarily good ones. Still, nearly all participants reported improved mood during and after the study (which also involved walking), and some also displayed objective improvements in brain function. (More)
Ultra-Processed Foods, Added Sugars May Raise Sleep Apnea Risk
Obstructive sleep apnea is a condition in which the upper airway becomes blocked while sleeping, resulting in reduced or completely stopped breathing. Previous research has indicated that certain lifestyle factors, including diet, could play a role in raising the risk for sleep apnea. A recent study got even more specific, finding that a diet high in ultra-processed foods and sugary foods or beverages may raise sleep apnea risk. Whole foods like fruit, vegetables, whole grains, and nuts, on the other hand, could lower the risk of sleep apnea. (More)
Boiling Water Could Reduce Microplastics by 90%
Microplastics are tiny pollutants that have increasingly been found in food and drinking water around the world. Their effects on human health haven't yet been fully determined, but evidence suggests they have potential to disrupt the gut microbiome. Certain water filters can reduce or eliminate microplastics, but a recent study found there may also be a DIY approach: boiling water. This reduced microplastics about 90% in hard water and 25% in soft water – with the catch that the water had to be strained through a coffee filter after being boiled. (More)
3,600 Steps Per Day Could Lower Your Risk of Heart Failure
Walking about 3,600 steps each day at a normal walking pace could significantly lower the risk of heart failure in older adults, according to some recent research. It was associated with a 26% reduced chance of developing heart failure, while every 1.5 hours of sedentary time per day was associated with a 17% higher risk of heart failure by contrast. Getting between 3,000-4,000 steps each day is highly achievable, and the study authors noted that household chores, climbing stairs, and yard work also counted in place of steps. (More)
10 Tried & True Ways to Reduce Chronic Inflammation
Many people now know that chronic inflammation may lead to a host of health problems down the road, but taking action to reduce it is another matter. One of the best places to start is with your diet, and foods like nuts, turmeric, leafy greens, and green tea have all shown an ability to combat inflammation in studies. Red, blue, and purple whole foods are packed with inflammation-fighting antioxidants, while exercise, sleep, stress management, and massages are non-diet ways to reduce your inflammatory load. (More)

The Simple Thing You Can Do Every Day to Support a STRONG Immune System
You’re only as young as your immune system, but the reality is that with age, often comes weakened immunity and slower recovery.
Suddenly, a cold or flu that you could once shake off in a day or two can become a lingering and debilitating illness for days and days on end.
Thankfully, there’s one simple thing you can incorporate into your daily routine now to support a healthy immune system.
It has to do with a little-known “Immunity Nutrient” called Beta Glucan that has been proven to be 160X more effective than vitamin C!
This potent combination features immunity-supporting nutrients like Vitamin C, Resveratrol and Selenium.
However, the effectiveness of the ingredients in a supplement is only half of what makes it worthwhile (or not).
What's not in a supplement is the other half of the equation.
With Better Way’s Beta Glucan 100, touted by some as "The Purest Beta Glucan in the World", every batch undergoes extensive third-party testing for guaranteed purity.
Furthermore, their beta glucan is vegan, non-GMO, and starch- and gluten-free (and the capsules are easy to swallow!)
